Information & resources on concealed carry
Background: Since 1871, Carrying Concealed Weapons (CCW) has been illegal in Wisconsin. Since that time, countless "victims" have been raped, assaulted and even murdered. WGO is committed to repealing Wisconsin's deadly ban on concealed carry, restoring citizens' inalienable right to bear arms. This right is enumerated both in the Wisconsin Constitution and U.S. Constitution's Bill of Rights. The latter of these makes it patently clear that bearing arms is an inalienable, natural law right. Thus, WGO sets a higher standard, fighting for what is known as Vermont-style concealed carry. This means that — as it has remained in Vermont — gun owners should not have to obtain a government permission slip (ie. a "permit") to carry concealed — any more than they should to exercise freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to assemble or freedom of press. However, WGO does support passage of a clean "Shall-Issue" bill, giving gun owners the option of obtaining a Wisconsin permit so as to allow legel travel to other states with permit systems (known as "reciprocity"). |
