URGENT ELECTION ALERT FROM OUR PAC

DAVE ZIEN FIRED

Dave Zien betrayed gun owners.

Dave Zien betrayed concealed carry supporters.

So Dave Zien lost.

While it grieves many gun owners to see Republicans voting and acting like liberals, fact is, those who turn their back on gun owners will pay the price on election day.

It's called "accountability."

In politics, perceptions don't always match realities. Many gun owners assumed - or were duped into believing - that Zien was a staunch pro-gunner. Some gun lobbies perpetuated this lie - not accurately reporting the facts to grassroots gun owners - and maintained the smokescreen. But assertions, no matter how many times they're said, are just that: assertions.

WGO-PAC's job isn't to work for state politicians. Our job is to uphold and defend the Second Amendment - by educating gun owners with the truth.  The Republican party needs to get the hint - to offer gun owners candidates who are solidly pro-gun.

WGO-PAC worked night and day educating voters that Republican-sponsored gun control is just that: gun control.

Our pro-gun ads penetrated State Senate District 23 and gun owners woke up and listened.

This is what we told them.

FACT:

Dave Zien SUPPORTED a gun owner registration scheme, voting to force gun owners who would have applied for concealed carry permits to be registered with the Department of Justice (DOJ) - just like criminals who need to be registered, tracked and controlled.

Dave Zien voted to give the DOJ just what they wanted: A list of names of gun owners who support the right to keep and bear arms. Government-controlled lists have historically always been used by anti-gun bureaucrats in times of crisis to facilitate sweeping gun confiscations. Gun owners oppose gun owner registration; Dave Zien supported gun owner registration.

Dave Zien has a long history of conceding to the left (always the worst possible strategy) but, as Committee Chair, refused to let WGO testify at a public hearing on concealed carry until 8:30 PM at night, keeping most gun owners who had went home uninformed.

Dave Zien did not return a simple pro-gun survey, choosing to conceal his true views on gun ownership from YOU - from grassroots gun owners.

You don't have a concealed carry law right now because Dave Zien chose a losing strategy - against our advice - of concession.

Let us repeat that: You don't have a concealed carry law right now because of Dave Zien.

Failing to pass concealed carry, Dave Zien, the Republicans, and many so-called gun lobbies pointed the finger at the anti-gun Democrats. They blamed Gov. Jim Doyle's veto. They blamed State Rep. Gary Sherman. They blamed State Rep. Terry Van Akkeren. And many more....

But Zien was the leader and he needed to take responsibility.

If a platoon leader sends his troops into an ambush, he doesn't blame the enemy for shooting up his men.

However, if Dave Zien would have listened to WGO, we believe you would be legally carrying a concealed handgun right now.

But Dave Zien snickered at our pro-gun strategy, and instead followed the status quo (which had always FAILED), which essentially put Democrats and anti-gun bureaucrats into the driver's seat from the beginning.

State Republicans need to learn the same lesson Democrats learned in 2000 - that supporting gun control is a losing proposition.

And conservative voters will be paying attention, willing to vote based on their inalienable right to keep and bear arms.

Dave Zien learned that lesson the hard way.

He betrayed you on concealed carry.

So, Dave Zien, you're fired.
