WGO Says Milwaukee Police Chief Acting Like a Tyrant
"My message to my troops is if you see anybody carrying a gun on the streets of Milwaukee, we’ll put them on the ground, take the gun away and then decide whether you have a right to carry it.” — Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn

| Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn not only defies the State Attorney General, but also state law and the Constitution! |
In response to an official Department of Justice memo by State Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen emphasizing that openly carrying firearms in Wisconsin is legal, Milwaukee's police chief Ed Flynn seems committed to promoting the on-going abuse of police power against gun owners who openly carry guns.
Flynn encouraged his "troops" to assault gun owners who have commited no crime.
"...[W]e'll put them on the ground," he said.
According to a story on wisn.com, Chief Flynn justified his I-am-above-the-law attitude by pointing to Milwaukee's crime problem. "Chief Ed Flynn said officers can't assume people are carrying guns legally in a city that has seen nearly 200 homicides in the past two years."
But as all clear-thinking people know, that crime problem is the result of gun control, not for lack of it.
After Chief Flynn's "troops" "put [gun owners] on the ground," these troops will then decide whether or not the gun owner has "a right to carry."
"Chief Flynn sounds like a Nazi — his comments are completely outrageous," said Corey Graff, Director of Wisconsin Gun Owners, Inc. (WGO). "Police throwing people to the ground who aren't breaking any law. Disarming lawful citizens with no reasonable suspicion of a crime. And then 'deciding' what rights we have ... these are comments that would make any dictator proud."
WGO called for Chief Flynn to resign on the basis of openly stating views contrary to the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Wisconsin Gun Owners, Inc. also denounced Flynn's wreckless advice to the police, which unecessarily creates a confrontational posture between armed citizens and officers when none should exist.
Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn's outrageoous statement points to a man not only defying state law, and the State Attorney General, but the Constitution and Bill of Rights as well.
